For the style-conscious man of today who also happens to be partial to a little high-octane sport, there are two destinations that simply must be visited. One is in the West and the other is in the Middle East, so let’s start with the familiar before moving on to the exotic….
Wembley Stadium, UK
As BeStylish! is based between the UK and US, many of our readers will no doubt already be familiar with the mighty Wembley Stadium. For the American readers, however, and indeed our stylish readers hailing from all other nations, take note as this is one of London’s great sporting landmarks. With its iconic, 134m-high arch (that’s 440ft) serving as a kind of beacon for miles around, this stadium, which is now just over a decade young (completed in 2007) is truly magnificent. Just check out this free-climb of Wembley arch – if that’s not a man with style then we don’t know what is!
Known primarily as a football (soccer) stadium, it also plays host to rugby and boxing and is occasionally transformed into an immense music venue. In recent years however, it has taken on a rather transatlantic flavour by teaming up with the NFL. This year it will see the clash of the Seattle Seahawks and the Oakland Raiders. Wembley NFL Games are always a treat as the American and British cultures come together and harmonise to create an incredible atmosphere. As Betting Sports explains, 2018 wasn’t actually supposed to be a Wembley year at all. The game, taking place on 18th October, was originally scheduled to be played at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. However, since it won’t be completed in time, the great and dependable Wembley has stepped up to cover it at the last minute.
Whether you’re celebrating a win or commiserating a loss, you can do it in true London style!
Of course, apart from being a super sports venue, after the game you get all the attractions of London to choose from. So whether you’re celebrating a win or commiserating a loss, you can do it in true London style!
Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi, UAE
OK, so now, as promised, we move over to the exotic Middle East….
Incontestably, there are few sports out there more stylish than motor racing. Since the gents took it up in the early 20th century, it has remained a sport that takes considerable dash, and frankly a fair bit of cash, to excel in. This makes for a stylish milieu, and when you throw in exotic locations such as the Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi, UAE you’ve really got something to get excited about.
The 2018 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will take place on the 25th November and is guaranteed to give spectators a phenomenal experience. There’s nothing quite like getting close to those roaring engine sounds and the stirring petrol fumes of the cars and, as with London, when the racing is over, you’ve got a great location to explore as well. UAE is, of course, renowned for luxury and glamour, with excellent shopping and dining options, as well as some incredible tourist spots and some truly outstanding hotels.
