No matter the price of your suit, for it to look great it must fit correctly. We at BeStylish.org understand the need to look great in a suit so have created an article on tips on how to ensure it fits correctly.
Check the Shoulder Fitting
The first check to make is to ensure that the shoulder lies flat. If you see ripples or lumps and wrinkles on the top then it needs to be changed. However, the shoulder is one of the hardest parts to change after it has been made, with this try to get this sorted before you purchase.
Length of Jacket Sleeve
The usual rule of thumb for the jacket sleeve length is to have it show half inch of shirt underneath. Anything more and it’s too short and anything less is too long. The seam where the cuff of the shirt should never be visible. A suit always look better when the shirt is visible on the cuffs. The length of the sleeve is an easy adjustment to make for any tailor.

The length of the jacket is an important to aspect to ensure is correct. Ideally the jacket will be down to the top of the curve above your buttocks. Another good marker to check for is the jacket to be down to the palms of your hands, when stood in a relaxed state. If it is too high up or longer past your palms then get this fixed by your tailor.
An easy way to check if your collar is fitted correctly is to ensure there is no gap in the back of the neck. The collar should rest against the shirt collar and not be strained or have wrinkles. A strained collar means the jacket is too tightly fitted, this will result in a creased shirt.

Back of Trousers
An area that shouldn’t be ignored is the back of your trousers. You should be able to wear the trousers without the need for a belt, however if they are too tight then this also needs to be changed. The perfect suit ill have trousers that taper slightly into the leg.
