2010 best dressed man awards

I’ve spotted two groups of celebrities: those who dress well and those who don’t. Whether it’s because their staff doesn’t know what they’re doing or because they don’t care is arguable. What’s more important is that we look at those male celebs that DO dress hot and figure out how they do it.
Gentlemen, I give you the Be Stylish ™ top ten of the best dressed male celebrities of 2010. Some of them prefer casual, some go for formal, but we can learn a lot from each and every one of them.

Let’s start with number 10.

#10 – Jay-Z

#5 – George Clooney

I didn’t put Clooney in because he’s suddenly changed the way he dresses. You see him below in a black tuxedo and a white shirt. Guys, no matter what colorful and accessorized outfits you choose for you day-to-day life, always remember that classic is always fashionable.
We need to learn to show the gentleman inside us from time to time, and the best way to do that is with a formal outfit. Mr. Clooney can give us all a lesson about dressing stylishly as well as one about simplicity.

#4 – Taylor Lautner

Taylor has shown some amazing outfits in 2010 and he fully deserves the fourth place spot in this year’s Be Stylish ™ awards.

You can see him a dark beige suit with a blue dress shirt on. The contrast is absolutely fantastic between the two. Also notice how the tie’s pattern also has blue in it. Taylor is teaching us to repeat on our ties the color of our shirt. This is a great piece of advice!

You may think the following outfit cant’ teach us much but, then again, it made it on the front page of GQ magazine. Notice how the muscle shirt is not really that tight. If you’ve got muscles and you want to show them, the old muscle shirts will just communicate you’re trying too hard.
This is not a rule but look how cooler you can be wearing something that doesn’t cause women to put their defenses up too often.

#3 – Justin Timberlake

I’ve always been a fan of Justin but not only for the awesome music has he sung. He’s been one of my favorite style icons for some time now and he didn’t let me down in 2010. Watch him below in a pretty shady outfit but very well matched.

To some guys, wearing those geeky glasses with that beanie might look ridiculous. But if you’ve seen enough outfits here at Be Stylish ™, you know by now that what most men thing about fashion is wrong. Stay open to new ideas, it’s the only way to evolve.

#2 – Brad Pitt

Brad’s showing us in the next picture how he can be stylish by adding a few accessories to an otherwise boring outfit. Imagine him with only the coat and the black t-shirt. Would people still notice him? Yes, but only because he’s a celeb.

#1 – Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp is not only stylish but also a trendsetter. Notice in the first picture of him how he raised his shirt’s sleeves. He has a habit of wearing *very accessorized outfits* as you can see. He fully deserves the number one spot for his amazing outfits. Look at the pictures below and analyze them carefully because Johnny shows us how being stylish is an art.

Hi again… Ok i have something to share… For the last 1 year i have been researching on this subject called style and fashion. What i realized after a short journey of 1 year is- being stylish make sense and is really above being fashionable. Our aim must be to be stylish and not fashionable. And the the first step to being stylish is learning basics. Ones you have your basics right then the next step is realizing what your style must be e.g., street style, preppy, etc. The things are not going to come in a month. Its a slow and a gradual process. I think your book is interesting to the fact that it has all basics covered. I have read lot of books and have browse through a lot of fashion sites. There are only very less sites and ebook which i think can develop your fashion/style sense…. (Wil be continued)

    Hi Amir,
Indeed David and Zac are extremely stylish. I wanted this to be an opportunity to put the light on other style icons that dressed really cool in 2010. Clooney may not be much of a trendsetter, for instance, and he doesn’t accessorize much but he’s a great style icon for those who like to dress stylishly.

I must say it was very hard to choose from and, of course, I’ve been expressing only my point of view. I’ll make style icons articles in the future discussing their outfits (you can find Zac Efron here: https://www.bestylish.org/blog/index.php/matching-your-outfit/style-icon-zac-efron ).

I couldn’t have said it better myself. Fashion has its place as it spices style a little but it’s style who cna make us look and feel great in our own skin.
I too was not very happy with the quality of other websites’ and magazines’ info about style.

I just picked up a men’s magazine curious about what to wear on New Years Eve and was surprised to find out that the only thing they recommend was a tuxedo!
Now I’m pretty sure most of the readers o that magazine will not be going to a fancy restaurant, hence they won’t be needing one. There’s a big disconnect between how fashion and style is presented and how it should be to really make a difference in a person’s life.

    3 … 3 … 3 …
Any stylish guy knows and can guess what my first line says. Am i right sir??
Haha… Nywez i hav a very interesting observation to share. See the best dressed mens in the world… No matter are they beckam or zac … They are streamlining their clothing color choices. Colors like blue, white, black, brown, grey with a hand on red sometime. This is their style secret that they dont want people to know. This also helps them in color cordinating their outfits. And also help them in cordinating what i said in the first line.
    3 .. 3 .. 3

I think Amir refers to the 3-color rule: “no more than 3 colors in an outfit”. It’s a good rule for everyone but it can be broken if you know how.
It’s worth saying that more than 3 colors can be too much for us guys, even if they match well.. Up to you how much you want to stand out. Wearing really bold colors (but matched with taste) can help you with physically attractive women.

Another thing: if you usually wear a lot of light colors like pink with white or slim ties, make sure that in an all-guys group not everyone is dressed in bold colors. It just doesn’t look good.

On the other hand, if you’re holding hands with a hot woman, you can pretty much wear as bold colors as you want. The hotter the girl the more you can push it. 😉

    Hi george,

    Hi george,
i really like ralph lauren, polo, and louis phillipe dressin. Although i dont dress that way. I also like the way beckham dresses. Can you help me in understanding my fashion sense?… Also tell me 1 thing why dont we see any of the best dressed person in louis phillippe or in ralph lauren clothing. What is the reason?

  13. December 30, 2010

    Hi Amir,
Ralph Lauren is relying very much on color to make outstanding outfits.
Secondly, i’ve seen pleny of celebs wearing a lot of color (Outkast, Snoop Dogg, Zac Efron etc.). The thing about celebs is that their work is contributing very much to their success. If they were to dress in bold colors it may alienate some of their fans.
Rappers will make more use of color because their target audience likes it (have you seen Snoop in California Gurls?).

But, again, for us non-celebs, we sometimes need another way to stand out. That way is color. It may not be what you’re looking for but if you’re the cocky kind of guy who wants to hook up with a different woman every night, wearing 5 (matched) colors will definitely help.

Regarding your own fashion sense. It’s clear you admire colorful outfits but avoid wearing them. I’ve worn them and got a lot of looks from strangers, both men and women.

I don’t wear bold colors that often but whenever I go to the clubs and I’m not in a relationship (a.k.a. looking for girls) I’ll definitely show my best outfit). No mercy!

I think for you the compromise is to do what you said in the beginning: wear dark/blue/black clothes and add just a drop of color.

John Depp is king of fashion what can anyone say about him or his fashion..

Being a hip hop fanatic, and enthusiast. I enjoy the styles they present like icons such as jay-z, 50 cent, and kanye west. however my style icons: sean diddy combs and andre 3000, aren’t there. combs has the sophisticated and detail oriented, and 3000 has the fun look (well I dont know how to describe it). and i just love how they dress, and i try to base my wardrobe on them, but still pulling off some typographic t-shirts here and there, saying something, i dont know, provocative like, “lames catch feelings we catch flight,” and “bairen kan bu dong” (In Chinese text, direct translation: bairen – white people, kan-see, bu dong- dont understand, so it means white people can’t read) i love wearing this especially to chinatown, and seeing people giggle as they see this shirt, just love wearing it, and the best thing is i am not even chinese 😛

  16. July 16, 2011

Glad to hear you’re experimenting. 🙂 Have you tried other clothing items, such as dress shirts, chinos, etc.?
