Matching Your Outfit

What Can You Wear Orange With?

Guys are afraid of color. That may have made sense until now, but things have changed dramatically in the last few decades. Guys are looking for stylish ways to stand out, and wearing color is one of them. But which colors are best?

(By the way, I already discussed about how to match colors in an outfit – feel free to check that article out.)

Besides the common colors most guys wear, such as dark blue or dark brown, there are a few bold colors that are not too vivid either.

Orange is one of those colors that, if used carefully, it can make you look amazing. But before you go out and buy something orange, there are a few things you should consider.

First of all, don’t buy orange pants of any kind. Pants in vivid colors are something you need to be very careful with. Orange pants are no exception.

In fact, I can’t even imagine a decent stylish outfit with orange pants.

When can you wear orange, then?

Here’s a list of items of clothing that look good in orange:

  • A polo shirt
  • A shirt
  • A v-neck
  • A vest
  • A scarf (uni or with stripes or patterns)
  • A pair of sneakers
  • A canvas belt

Orange is worn mostly in casual situations. Wear a dark outfit (formed of black and navy blue), then add a pair of orange sneakers and, optionally, an orange belt. You’ll have women jump into your arms.

How to match orange?

Here’s a list of colors you can match orange with. Up to you how you mix and match your clothes.

  • dark green
  • black
  • navy blue
  • blue

Let me give you one of my outfits, that I wore last fall: orange blouse, regular blue jeans, black sneakers, black leather jacket and a dark green scarf with black checks). The orange and the dark green made matched extremely well.

And here’s another one of mine. I actually had the inspiration to take a photo and add it to the Be Stylish ™ Lookbook:

Orange and black make an amazing contrast, by the way.

You can find your own combinations, if you try a few orange clothes.
