Are Gray Tuxedos Stylish?

July 21st, 2010
One of the most appreciated pieces of clothing is, without a doubt, the tuxedo. On formal occasions, a lot of men proudly wear one to show class and style.

I’m not going to delve into the origins of tuxedos or the names under which they are know in different countries (or who refers only to the tuxedo jacket when they talk about tuxedos and who doesn’t). What I want to debate is whether or not a gray tuxedo is acceptable or not.

Everything about the French Cuff

May 2nd, 2010

Maybe an even better title for this article would be “How to Make Outstanding Impressions in Your Business Meetings”. French cuffs are perfect for such situations.

So what’s a french cuff?

Actually, before we answer this question, let’s answer another:

What’s a cuff?

A cuff is the bottom part of a men’s shirt. This area actually has a different feel to the touch because it has an extra layer of fabric. The purpose of this is two-fold: first, the cuff keeps the end of the sleeve tighter so it won’t slip over one’s hand. The other is that it prevents fraying.

April 20th, 2010

A great suit is like an armor: when you’re wearing it, you’re unstoppable! There is something in the fact that you’re wearing an expensive piece of clothing that skyrockets your belief in yourself.

if you’re not the type who needs to wear a suit daily, you probably don’t wear it in the evening or during the weekends, either. Since you don’t want to spend a lot of money on suits of different kinds and colors, you probably want one that you can wear every once in a while.

Is this you? No problem, then, the gray suit to the rescue!

January 23rd, 2010

Wearing a suit is something relatively simple but the way you choose the tie and the pocket square is an art.

If you haven’t yet decided to go this far as to accessorize a suit, I will attempt to convince you otherwise.

Let’s start with the fact that most of us can’t afford many suits. Sure, it would be nice to have one for each occasion but a suit is a BIG investment. For this reason we prefer suits that go well for each occasion.

Under these harsh conditions, how can we express ourselves?

Young Man in Suit
Any man needs to have in his wardrobe at least one suit. Because of the fact that we dress casual 99% of the time, we tend to care less about formal outfits. As a consequence, we end up spending a lot of money on suits that don’t fit us - all because of lack of information.

If you don’t want to have too many suit and would like a color that works well on occasions, I will give you a few color ideas for your first suit.
It’s important to remember that the color needs to work well with your skin complexity. if you want to know which colors flatter your skin type, I’ve talked about this in detail in the Be Stylish! manual.
