I’ve recently had a reader ask a very interesting question. In case you didn’t know, I’m sharing my expertise for free here on the blog (so go ahead and ask me anything you want about men’s fashion and style).
The question goes like this:
Hello George, I’m attending a republican party dinner I will be with Girlfriend and county legislators and a Senator, I’m a working stiff I want to look damn good help brother what color jacket pants shirt tie I have small buidget is there hope using those online stores or can Macy’s or JC Penny pull it off for me.

Well, I just drove back home from another wedding. It was really exciting to attend a 5-star wedding at a 5-star hotel, while the groom is a 5-star friend of mine. I had to look sharp – and I did.
I’ll save the pictures for last but, for now,I’ll just tell you what I wore. I leave it to you to put together in your head my entire outfit – just to practice. Here goes:
- dark-brown pinstripe suit
- light-blue simple dress shirt
- dark brown shoes and socks
- blue tie with brown stripes
- patterned pocket square

If you’re the kind of guy who likes to dress stylishly when going out, you’ve probably asked yourself: “What can I wear at work?”
The work environment is often stressful, exhausting and full of people focused on their daily tasks. You can’t just go ahead and wear the same clothes you would wear in a club. You need to project confidence, seriousness and that you’re a professional in your field.
The whole idea behind smart casual outfits is to make the employees more relaxed and to allow them to better express themselves. This is all to make them more productive and happy at their workplace, by offering them an alternative to wearing suits.

If you’re like me trying to build a business, you know how competitive things are. Nowadays everyone is a business expert. Every kid in the street can’t wait to give some business advice (and they think they’re clever too!)
Whatever decisions you take in your business is up to you but what I’m going to do is make sure you look sharp in those business meetings.
It’s my job as an image consultant to give you both the good and the bad news: the fashion rules of business have changed!

If you think wearing business clothes is a surefire way of feeling uncomfortable 8 hours a day, think again. You’ve probably took style advice from your colleagues or boss who, most likely, don’t know the basics of fashion.
One of the qualities that separate the winners from the losers is preparedness. As a businessman or manager, you never know when you have to meet a client or jump into a meeting. That’s why you have to be prepared every single day to make a lasting first impression.

OK, you got the interview! You know you’re great for this job, you know you’ll do great… All you have to do now is to make THEM see this. All you need are some great fitting clothes to show them you’re serious about your career.
Initially you probably thought it’s best to overdress, so you can impress them. Maybe, an hour later, it occurred to you they won’t like that so you figured you should just go casual.
Let me tell you your thinking is close to what you should be REALLY wearing to an interview. You don’t want to be too dressed up but you don’t want to be super casual either.

I know, I know… You have this event and you’re clueless about what to wear. All you know is that you need a suit, a shirt and a tie. If it weren’t for your girl, you’d just walk up into the first store you can find and take the first thing the salesperson recommends.
Hey, I’d rather grab a beer too instead of dragging myself through dozens of stores to find something decent to wear.
But image is important. Whether we like to admit it or not, knowing to match our suit, shirt and tie is a must. The combinations are many but I’m going to save you the trouble and confusion you have when it comes down to this topic.

One of the most appreciated pieces of clothing is, without a doubt, the tuxedo. On formal occasions, a lot of men proudly wear one to show class and style.
I’m not going to delve into the origins of tuxedos or the names under which they are know in different countries (or who refers only to the tuxedo jacket when they talk about tuxedos and who doesn’t). What I want to debate is whether or not a gray tuxedo is acceptable or not.

Maybe an even better title for this article would be “How to Make Outstanding Impressions in Your Business Meetings”. French cuffs are perfect for such situations.
So what’s a french cuff?
Actually, before we answer this question, let’s answer another:
What’s a cuff?
A cuff is the bottom part of a men’s shirt. This area actually has a different feel to the touch because it has an extra layer of fabric. The purpose of this is two-fold: first, the cuff keeps the end of the sleeve tighter so it won’t slip over one’s hand. The other is that it prevents fraying.

A great suit is like an armor: when you’re wearing it, you’re unstoppable! There is something in the fact that you’re wearing an expensive piece of clothing that skyrockets your belief in yourself.
if you’re not the type who needs to wear a suit daily, you probably don’t wear it in the evening or during the weekends, either. Since you don’t want to spend a lot of money on suits of different kinds and colors, you probably want one that you can wear every once in a while.
Is this you? No problem, then, the gray suit to the rescue!
