I’m writing this as I caught a clod today. Not the most pleasant feeling in the world. In fact… I HATE IT! I didn’t wear proper clothes for a few hours and, since it was snowing and freezing outside… you know what happened.
While my throat is hurting pretty bad, I figured I’d write a little something about winter clothing. Just a reminder for me to never underestimate cold weather again.
Knitted jumpers!
If the last one you wore was made by your grandmother, you should know they come in online stores. Joe Browns has them and I’m sure you can find plenty of other stores out there.

The pea coat is my favorite winter coat, because it’s the “manliest” out there. It’s originally been worn by 18th century European sailors, who, because of the harsh conditions, needed a double breasted item of clothing to keep them warm.
You’ll recognize the pea coat by its…
- Double breasted jacket
- Wide lapels
- Vertical pockets
- Large buttons
You’ll see in the pictures below why I said it’s so manly. But how the practical uses of a winter coat are more important than the way it looks. So let’s talk about this for a moment.

On a cold weather, during the spring and autumn, you have to wear a
jacket. Made from a vast range of materials, in a variety of models and colors, it’s impossible not to have one in your
wardrobe.
Some jacket models firmly maintain their position against new fashion trends, like leather jackets; others, although not very fashionable, like quilt, sport or classic cloth jackets, are preferred due to their coziness, and other jackets come or go out of fashion, suffering more or less style changes, like denim jackets.

News flash: it’s raining outside. Ever since September came along, it’s been pouring here. We need an armor against this flood… How about a rain coat?
I never got why we’re so little concerned with coats. Sure, a leather jacket is shorter and lighter . We only choose it because we see everyone else wearing it.
But rain coats are way more classy than leather jackets.
If you’re more interested in a “motorcycle guy look” or a rocker look, coats are not for you (except for those long, black leather trench coats that almost touch the ground in length). Leather jackets are and will remain your first option.
