What Stylish Shoes to Get?

May 14th, 2010

Shoes are expensive. You don’t get a pair every week and, for this reason, when you decide to take out your wallet, you have to be very well informed. If you bought them and after that you realize they’re a little too small (like a friend of mine recently had this happen), you end up giving them as a gift to someone else. Of course… you need to buy new ones for yourself.

A lot of people think shoes are the most important part of an outfit. The reason? If you’re wearing simple clothes but your shoes look great, you’ll create a much better impression than if you’re very elegant but your shoes are old or dirty.

Style Icon: Zac Efron

May 8th, 2010

When I was a child I thought celebrities dressed well because they had a lot of money. I mean, they have a whole team of fashion consultants behind them, right? They take care of every aspect of their image so they can look good not only in concerts and movies but also in their daily lives.

This is all over now. I know that if I use my head a little I can pick great clothes that not only look great but make me feel great. And how you feel is what matters.

Everything about the French Cuff

May 2nd, 2010

french cuff close-up

Maybe an even better title for this article would be “How to Make Outstanding Impressions in Your Business Meetings”. French cuffs are perfect for such situations.

So what’s a french cuff?

Actually, before we answer this question, let’s answer another:

What’s a cuff?

A cuff is the bottom part of a men’s shirt. This area actually has a different feel to the touch because it has an extra layer of fabric. The purpose of this is two-fold: first, the cuff keeps the end of the sleeve tighter so it won’t slip over one’s hand. The other is that it prevents fraying.

Which Style is Best?

April 27th, 2010

If I were to gather in one place the nastiest comments I’ve heard about style and see the big picture, I’d reach the conclusion that they all criticize one style or another.

Here’s what I mean by this: a lot of folks go into the site, look around, then criticize all other styles except their own. As far as they’re concerned, the others should not even be considered stylish.

Some might say leather shoes are the only ones that are worth wearing and that sneakers are for sporting activities only. The next guy swears sneakers make the best casual outfits and literally hate leather shoes, which make them feel uncomfortable. This realization is more complex that I initially imagined.

The Gray Suit, Right for Every Occasion

April 20th, 2010

A great suit is like an armor: when you’re wearing it, you’re unstoppable! There is something in the fact that you’re wearing an expensive piece of clothing that skyrockets your belief in yourself.

if you’re not the type who needs to wear a suit daily, you probably don’t wear it in the evening or during the weekends, either. Since you don’t want to spend a lot of money on suits of different kinds and colors, you probably want one that you can wear every once in a while.

Is this you? No problem, then, the gray suit to the rescue!

Personal Hygiene Rules

April 6th, 2010

Hygiene is basic. If there’s one thing more important than style, that’s hygiene. I’m not going to start giving you reasons for this because I’m sure you already know them. But I’ve never spoken abut this topic before so it’s time that I should.

I realized that sometimes we forget some of these hygiene rules so I decided to put them all in one place. It’s enough to review it from time to time and make sure you don’t break any of them.

How to Buy The Right Clothes

March 21st, 2010
man choosing a tie

One of the things that men don’t know how to do is to choose the right clothes. They take it for granted and thus end up spending TONS of money on clothes that DON”T fit them.

I’ve tried many times to explain my friends what these steps are but they usually don’t listen. On the other hand I have people who pay me to hear these precious info. Strange, huh?

What most men do is the go in to one or two stores and then buy something quickly just get it over with. In some cases they end up getting something that’s identical to what they’re already wearing. HAAH. I’ve stopped making fun of them.

7 Purple Outfits for Men

March 6th, 2010

Question: what does a man do when he FINALLY wants to get something stylish? Answer: he chooses something purple.
It’s true, purple has it all: it stands out but not too much, it’s easy to match with many colors, including the white, black and gray clothes most men already have and… you can find it anywhere in the stores. I can even say some stores have practically colored themselves in purple.

If you want to add some color into your outfits and you don’t know what to choose, go for purple. I’m not going to give you much theory today, I’ll just let the pictures speak for themselves.

Five Reasons to Wear Ties

February 21st, 2010

brown blazer with white shirt and black slim tie

In the beginning I’d like to quote an extremely well known American designer named Bill Blass:

Sometimes the eye gets so accustomed that if you don’t have a change, you’re bored. It’s the same with fashion, you know. And that, I suppose, is what style is about.

One of the easiest ways of making a change in your wardrobe os to wear accessories. Women have plenty to choose from but men seem to be limited when it comes to them. Not so!

If you want a stylish accessory, ties are the solution.

Trendy Blazers for Men

February 12th, 2010

Hey guys,
I just got this new sports jacket and I had to post up a picture to see how awesome it looks!

But first, a small clarification. Blazers and sports jackets are usually used interchangeably but this is actually a mistake. Both their origin and the way they look are different.

Let’s take a look.

This is a classic blazer, navy blue with gold buttons:

And this is the sports jacket:

If this is the first time you ever considered wearing a trendy blazer you probably don’t care too much about the difference so I’ll use both terms.
